Life is too short and the older you get the more you realize that. Charles Schulz once said, ” Life is like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use.” Why not be different and why not be remarkable?
You can control the pace at which you pursue your dreams. You can create your own reality, decision by decision and day by day. Your experiences give you a reference point from which you learn and grow. This is an invaluable resource from which you can draw confidence and courage to move forward and be all you can be.
I have found that once your mind is stretched by a new and different perspective of who you are and how you might best succeed, it can never return to where it was before. Your possibilities have just expanded. The great thing is, you never know when you will run across a single idea, maybe even from a totally unrelated business, that will revolutionize your business.
Look at any profession and you will find that the truly remarkable spend more time on preparation than they do on performing the actual task. For example, have you seen a flawless presentation recently? The odds are very good that many hours of practicing went into the preparation for that one presentation. But there comes a time when you don’t need to read another book, attend another seminar or workshop or get any more advice. You are as prepared as you are going to be and you just need to jump in and begin.
This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from St. Francis of Assisi, ” First do what is necessary, then do what is possible, and before long you’ll find yourself doing the impossible.” Imagine what it will feel like when you have reached your potential. As William Shakespeare said, ” Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” Which one are you? Do you have what it takes to seize the greatness you hope for and live a truly remarkable life?
I believe you do. You are much stronger than you think. Your thinking is an unending work in progress. Work on it daily. Doing something new, being forced out of your comfort zone, will revitalize you. You become remarkable by doing things that others won’t do. You become remarkable by being open to new concepts. You can make a remarkable difference in your community and the world.
There’s almost nothing you can’t do if you are determined to do it.Go ahead and dream the big dreams and realize that it’s all up to you to be truly remarkable!
